'Introduction to Llamas' half day course & walk
'Introduction to llamas' is an informative half day experience, great for llama lovers of all ages to learn about these curious animals first hand.
Our herd of llamas, alpacas and guanaco will greet you at New House Farm as you learn all about their heritage and traditional uses, looking at examples of the products made from their fibre in our llama room.
The 'boys' are brought in from the fields with the sound of Peruvian bells. You will learn how to halter them, groom your llama and get them ready for a walk with their traditional packs. We have a selection of authentic South American hats and ponchos that you can wear for that unique photo with your chosen llama!
We then take a short relaxing walk with the llamas through New House Farm's 6 acres, passing our grazing rheas and around the lake for the llamas to browse on the lakeside trees.
The course is rounded off with a traditional Dorset cream tea by the lake or overlooking the llama fields.
